Our Careteam

Angelica

Hospital Coordinator / Registered Veterinary Technician

Angelica first stepped into the veterinary world in 2003 as a volunteer but has since worked in what feels like almost every position possible in a small animal veterinary clinic, from kennel staff to practice manager, and now also as a Registered Veterinary Technician! She received her Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of Waterloo in 2013. Soon after, she enrolled in the Veterinary Technician program at GeorgianCollege, graduating in 2015 and completed her registration exam a few months later. In 2016, Angelica began her studies in the Bachelor of Science in Nursing program with Georgian College/York University. Angelica balances her administrative duties with her responsibilities as an RVT so that she can help the hospital run as smoothly as possible, but also be able to spend time with the animals she loves! Angelica is fluent in English and Cantonese, a little rusty on her Mandarin, and…. working on her Russian *ahem*.

Mackenzie

Registered Veterinary Technician

Mackenzie is the newest addition to our team! She graduated from the Veterinary Technician program at SenecaCollege in 2017 and passed her registration exam shortly after. As one of our Registered Veterinary Technicians, she is most often found assisting Dr. Piotrowski while he examines and treats your furry family members, whether it is giving them a friendly hug and words of reassurance, monitoring anaesthesia during surgical procedures, or answering your inquiries over the telephone! Mackenzie has experience working with companion animals, small mammals, horses, cows, sheep, chickens, reptiles, and birds.

Mackenzie has been a proud dog owner all her life, but in addition to her two dogs, she also currently has three hamsters and two tanks of fish! Seeing as her two favourite dog breeds are Chihuahuas and Saint Bernards, Mackenzie’s plans for her future involves getting married, starting a family, and owning a farm so she can rescue lots of animals! Until then though, she enjoys caring for and spending time with her animals, knitting, and reading.

Ella

Receptionist / Veterinary Assistant

Ella is often the first one to greet you with a smile on her face as you come into our hospital! Ella was born in Russia and spent her childhood there before moving to Israel when she was 12 years old. In 2010, Ella moved to Canada and resides with her husband, their three children, and their Maltese/Bichon Frise mix named Gucci. Ella has experience with a variety of animals, such as cows, sheep, chickens, dogs, cats, rabbits, and hamsters!

During her free time, Ella enjoys spending time with her family, camping, reading, travelling, and cooking. Although she mainly worked in the make-up and dermatology field in the past, Ella believes that her transition to working in a veterinary clinic was one of the best decisions of her life! Ella is fluent in English, Russian, and Hebrew!

Elizabeth

Receptionist / Veterinary Assistant

Another friendly face that one might see as they step into our hospital during the evenings and on weekends is Elizabeth’s! Although she is currently entering her second year of the Veterinary Technician program at Seneca College, Elizabeth has been working with animals in the veterinary setting for more than 4 years. After she graduates in year 2020, Elizabeth plans to write her examinations in order to be certified as both a Registered Laboratory Technician, as well as a Registered Veterinary Technician. Although Elizabeth was born and raised in the Greater Toronto Area, she hopes to move to Calgary one day to work with animals in the wildlife and rehabilitation setting. On her free time, Elizabeth enjoys reading, writing, and playing the violin in the company of her two cats (Mittens and Hatsumi) and her corn snake, Artemis.
